What we do

One crew for your whole pool's water

From a single weekly balance to a full green-pool recovery, we test, clear and keep it, all under one roof. Every service below carries the same quality promise.

The honest call

Weekly care, rescue, or new gear?

A pool is chemistry with a diving board. Here is what each service really does, and the honest timelines nobody prints.

Weekly service

The rhythm is the water.

Each visit
Test, balance, skim, brush, baskets, filter check
Why weekly
Balanced water never gets the chance to turn

A green pool is rarely a chlorine problem, it’s a balance-and-circulation problem that chlorine gets blamed for. The weekly rhythm is what prevention actually looks like.

Green-to-clean

Days. Not overnight.

Real process
Shock, circulate, brush, filter around the clock, repeat
Timeline
Several days for a true swamp, honestly quoted

Anyone promising a swamp-to-swim overnight is selling chlorine, not chemistry. The filter does the real work, and filters need hours.

Equipment

The pump is your power bill.

Worth it
Variable-speed pumps cut real electricity, month after month
Watch
Filter runtime: too short and the best chemistry can’t save the water

An upgrade should come with arithmetic, watts, hours, your rate. If the math isn’t offered, the recommendation is a catalog page.

Open & close

Two days decide the year.

Closing
Lines blown, chemistry set, cover tight, before the first freeze
Opening
The earlier the open, the cheaper the spring, algae loves a warm covered pool

A cracked pipe from a rushed closing costs more than a decade of proper ones. This is the visit where corners are most expensive.

One honest ask back: keep the water level where we mark it and empty nothing into the pool between visits, the chemistry math assumes it.

Straight pricing

One number. In writing. It doesn’t move.

No hourly meter, no surprise line items, no “while we’re at it”. You approve one clear quote before anything goes in the water, so you know the cost up front.

The pool check

We visit, measure every corner and listen to what you actually want. Free, and it stays free.

02
Your clear quote

Visits, chemicals and small parts, one line, one price. Approved by you before anything starts.

In writing03
Signed & guaranteed

The number lands in writing with a one-year workmanship warranty. If it isn’t right, we make it right.

The breakdown

What moves the number.

No mystery math. Four things decide what pool care costs, and we walk every one with you before the quote lands.

Condition & water stateA neglected or green pool takes more chemistry and more visits to bring back than a balanced one. Honest recovery is most of the price.
Size & volumeGallons, surface area and how much water there is to test, balance and keep clear week to week.
Equipment & accessThe state of the pump, filter and heater, and how easy the pad and gate are to reach, is hands-on work.
TimingFlexible scheduling costs less. A hard deadline, an opening before an event, can be met, priced plainly.

Whatever the mix, you get one clear quote, in writing, before any work starts.

What a serious pool-service quote includes, ours or anyone’s:
  • The task list per visit, written out
  • Chemicals: included or billed, stated plainly
  • Your fixed service day, named
  • A report after each visit: readings and what was done
  • Storm and heat-wave policy: extra visits, priced how
  • Equipment recommendations with the math attached
“Chemicals included” versus “chemicals billed” is the difference between two identical-looking monthly prices. Ask first, not in August.
On the job

Real pools, real summers, clear to the bottom

From a green pool rescued in a week to a heater that finally made May swimmable, this is the water we test, balance and clear across Portland every day.

The deep-end test

Clear enough to
count the tiles.

Balanced alkalinity holds the pH, the pH protects the chlorine, and the chlorine barely has to work. Chemistry, not chemicals.

Recent jobs

Real work, in plain numbers.

Three jobs from the past few months, what they were, where, and how long they actually took.

Green pool recovery
Sellwood·4 days

Swamp-green 18,000-gallon plaster pool brought back clear. Triple shock, cartridge filter run around the clock, walls and floor brushed twice a day until the water held its chlorine overnight. Balanced and swimmable by day four.

Heater swap, repiped
Laurelhurst·1 day

Dead 250k BTU heater pulled and replaced with a new natural-gas unit. Repiped the pad in rigid PVC with unions for the next service, then checked gas pressure and combustion before firing it up.

Leak found, skimmer
Irvington·3 hours

Pool dropping close to an inch a day. Pressure-tested the return and suction lines, dye-tested the shell, and traced it to a cracked skimmer throat. Marked and photographed for the repair, no digging on a guess.

Where we work

Proudly serving the Portland metro

A lot of our work comes from a neighbor who watched us work the house next door. If you're in the metro, we're just around the corner.

Short summers make every swim week count here — and long leafy falls make the closing date the most important appointment of the pool year.

How it goes

From first call to done.

No mystery in the middle. This is the path the job actually takes, start to finish.

01
The poolside walkthroughday 1

We meet you at the pool, test the water on the spot, and look over the pump, filter and heater together. You show us the problem spots and tell us how you actually use the pool.

02
Quote lands in writingwithin 24 hours

You get a clear quote by email, itemized line by line so there are no surprise add-ons later. What the number says is what you pay, even if a job runs long.

03
We lock the schedule1-2 weeks out

Once you approve, we book a firm start date and order any parts like a salt cell, pump motor or heater ahead of time. You get a calendar date, not a vague window.

04
The work gets doneday of the job

A named tech and crew show up when we said, lay down drop cloths around the deck, and keep the equipment pad tidy as they go. We text you a photo update if you are not home.

05
Walkthrough and handoffbefore we leave

We walk the pool with you, run the equipment while you watch, and hand you the balanced water numbers plus the warranty in writing. The deck gets swept, hoses coiled, and nothing is left behind.

Before you hire anyone

Five questions for every pool company.

Including us. Pool service is a subscription to trust, someone’s in your backyard weekly. Five questions before you hand over the gate code.

01What exactly happens on a weekly visit?

A task list, not a vibe. Test, balance, skim, brush, baskets, if the list is shorter than that, so is the service.

02Are chemicals in the price or on top?

Two companies can quote the same monthly number and differ by a summer of chlorine. Ask before comparing.

03How long does a green pool really take?

Days, honestly. The answer tells you whether they respect chemistry or just sell it.

04Do I get a report after each visit?

Readings, what was added, what was found. The report is how you know Tuesday happened at all.

05When you recommend equipment, where’s the math?

Watts, runtime, your electric rate. An upgrade with arithmetic is advice, without it, it’s inventory.

Bring this list to the quote call. We’ll answer all five before you ask.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Getting started
Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for every service and commercial plans are always free, we visit, measure, talk through water and equipment, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent renews, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does “free estimates” mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear quote to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
What should I do before the first visit?+
Clear the gate code with us and point out anything fragile on the route to the pad. Testing, balancing and the plan are our homework.
Can you price over the phone?+
A realistic range from gallons and equipment, gladly. The quote needs one free look at the pad, condition decides too much.
What happens during the free pool check?+
We test the water, walk the equipment pad, check for obvious loss and read the filter pressure, twenty minutes, flat quote after.
Water, chemistry & finish
Why does my pool smell like chlorine?+
That smell is chloramines, used-up chlorine, and it means the water needs more free chlorine, not less. Counterintuitive, common, and fixed with a proper shock.
How often should a pool really be serviced?+
Weekly in season. Chemistry drifts in days and small corrections are cheap, a skipped month is how green pools and etched plaster start.
What is the saturation index you mention?+
The math that says whether water will etch your surfaces or scale them. We balance to it, not just to a chlorine strip, that is why plaster lasts.
My pool is green, do I have to drain it?+
Almost never. Testing tells us what grew and why, then shock, floc and filtration bring it back in days. Draining is the last resort, not the first quote.
Salt or chlorine, honestly?+
Salt pools still run on chlorine, the cell just makes it. Softer feel, steadier dosing, but cells wear and salt corrodes soft stone, we lay out both sides.
Which finish fits our pool?+
Tap through the Water Studio above, lagoon, glass tile, pebble, and the page takes each tone. It is how most owners find their color.
Upkeep, durability & guarantee
Do you handle winterizing?+
Yes, closings with every line blown dry and plugged. Freeze damage is a closing mistake, not bad luck, our closings carry it in writing.
Is my water loss a leak or evaporation?+
The bucket test answers it in a day, we set it up and read it. If it is a leak, we isolate line by line before anything gets opened.
Do you service hot tubs too?+
Yes, on a quarterly drain-and-flush rhythm plus chemistry visits. Small hot water is the hardest chemistry in the yard, it gets its own plan.
Is the work guaranteed?+
Yes, in writing, service standards and repairs both. If water we balanced goes off before the next visit, we return first and free.
Is the Care Plan worth it?+
For most homes, yes: an annual inspection, free scuff and touch-up visits, priority scheduling, and 15% off future projects typically pay for the membership the first time you use it, and keep every finish looking new.
